Minnie Pearl Coleman

March 28, 1941 ~ August 20, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Minnie Pearl Bivins Coleman was born March 28, 1941 in Wayne County, Mississippi to her beloved parents Sam Bivins and Arcola Woulard Bivins of State Line, MS.  She entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the age of 76.  She was a life-long resident of Moss Point, Mississippi.  She was a faithful member of the New Apostolic Assembly until her health failed.

Minnie was a former teacher assistant with the original Jackson County Head Start Program on Jackson Street in Moss Point, Mississippi. She also worked at the BVD Plant and as a Supervisor with the summer feeding program in Ocean Springs, MS. Her passion was cooking homemade cakes, biscuits, pies, cobblers, cornbread, dressing and mama’s fried chicken.  If you named it our mother could and would make it happen.  Our mother loved her family, friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie L. Coleman; father, Sam Bivins; mother, Arcola Woulard Bivins; brother, Charles E. Bivins, Sr.; sister, Clotee Bivins Kirksey and great-grand daughter, Aurielle Croon.

Minnie was married to the late Eddie L. Coleman for 58 years and to this union was born five loving children;  Cathy (Calvin) Myers of Moss Point, MS,  Linda (Maxwell) Cooley of Gautier, MS, Denise (Glenn) Nettles, Jr. of Moss Point, MS, LaDarion Coleman of Daytona, FL and Wendy Claytor of Moss Point, MS.  Devoted Brother & Devoted Sister-in-law; Clyde (Maude) Bivins and Devoted Sister, Josephine Douglas all of Moss Point, MS, Loving Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law Truitt(Eloise) Coleman of Detroit, MI; She leaves her legacy to 12 grandchildren: Travis(Jerilyn) Bass, Sr., Tiffany Smith, Paris(Christy) Nettles, Anthony Bass, Jr., Glenn (Ravin) Nettles, III, Whitney Bass, Charles Nettles, Sr., La Bradney Banks, Brandon Myers, Destiney Coleman, Indya Pope and 19 great-grandchildren. Loving and caring neighbors Mr. & Mrs. Freddie Green, Mr. & Mrs. James Tobes and Mr. & Mrs. Stan Williams, devoted friends:  Mrs. Ruby Stokes, Mrs. Bertha Mosley, devoted cousin/friend Mrs. Betty Battles, devoted caregiver Mrs. Lucille Palmer and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.
