Cathy Woods

Our beloved mother and friend, Cathy Woods, returned to her Heavenly Father on March 13, 2024.  She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Cathy was born on March 12, 1964 to Mary Louis Woods.

Cathy was preceded in death by mother, Mary Louise Woods, and father, Stennis Edwards; grandparents, Gusto and Annie Lee Woods; uncles, Winston and James Woods; Aunts, Eva Magee, Gussie Woods, Annie M. Dailey, and Maggie Calhoun; and two brothers.

Cathy embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, friendship, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her children, friends, family, and especially her pride and joy her grandchildren. Cathy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She doted on her children, and she was happiest when her grandchildren surrounded her. 

Cathy's caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone she came in contact with. She had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people but bringing out the best in them as well.  

Cathy is survived by her doting children: Marcello Woods(Shannon), Sheneka (Roque) Encarnacion, Jalisa (Samuel) Pinkney, and Jalic Reddix; Ten grandchildren- Anaya, Jaidee, Jorrian, Sebastian, Alexander, Julaicee, Kelsalyn, Kendalyn, Jazzlee, and Kalis;  Special children- Cameron, Jordan, Julie, Matthew, Vermikalasha, Ken Williams, Tiffany Kepa'a, and Ashlynn(Chris)Taylor; Special friends-John, Marquetta, Carla, Robin, Beverly, Annie, and Ms. Brenda; Special neighbors John and Francis Abston and Barbara Strahan; Special sister Vicki Woods. The Gautier/Maier Family. She is also survived by a great aunt, two nephews, two brothers, and two sisters, cousins, and too many friends to list.

Her vivacious and giving spirit will be missed by many.

Even though Cathy was taken too soon, she lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored her. Please join us as we celebrate our mother's life.
