Michael Eckles Obituary

Michael Eckles Sr. born February 22, 1977 passed away at home surrounded by his family on March 13 the 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife Katie and his 3 incredible sons Michael, Aiden and Jackson. Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and honor and will be dearly missed by his sister Tammy, brothers’ Dave (Shannon) and Trey (Kristy) and a huge extended family that was brought to him in marriage, mother- in law Kathy (Bob), brothers-in-law Ryan (Terri), Eric (Dee), Kyle, Bobbo (Bree), and sister in law Lauren (Nick).


Mike was also the proudest and coolest of uncle’s to Brianna, David, Rachael, Elizabeth, Kyler, Noah, Nevaeh, Irie, Erianna, Keira, Bennett, Bentley, Amarah, and Aurora-Sky. Mike is survived by many aunts and uncles who loved and adored him throughout his life and his numerous cousins will miss him dearly.


Mike is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William and Janet Konitz, his paternal grandparents, Edward Eckles Sr. and Caroline Wallace, his parents Linda and Edward Eckles Jr. and his fathers-in law Warren Woods and Craig Condill all of Illinois.


Mike was a dedicated family man. His devotion to his loved ones knew no bounds, and he took great pride in being a pillar of support for his family and friends.


Mike met the love of his life, Katie while still in high school. They married in 1999 in a beautiful wedding that would have Mike fist pump after the I Do’s, because he knew he had hit the lottery with that one. Mike and Katie have spent more than half of their lives together and had 3 beautiful children. Michael, Aiden and Jackson were everything to Mike and they all got the best pieces of him. His passion, his determination and his endless love for his family.


In his professional life, Mike was a hardworking individual who approached every task with diligence and determination. He was an arborist who fulfilled his lifelong of dream of owning his own business when he opened Coastview Tree Service in Vancleave, MS. He believed in the value of perseverance and was always willing to go the extra mile to achieve his goals. Yet, amidst his busy schedule, he never forgot to make time for those around him, offering a helping hand or a listening ear whenever it was needed. Mike lived life to the fullest, embracing each moment with an unwavering enthusiasm that inspired all who knew him. Whether he was exploring nature or simply enjoying the company of his loved ones, he radiated a sense of joy and contentment that was truly infectious. His adventurous spirit and zest for life were evident to all who crossed his path, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered.


Mike loved his family beyond measure. That is what will be remembered most about him. They are his legacy. His greatest joy and the best part of himself.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family to help pay for some of the medical bills that were accrued during this difficult injury and for the future needs of Mike’s 3 sons. There will be a celebration of life for Mike on Saturday March 23 rd , 2024 from 1030am-1230pm held at Woody’s Roadside, 3008 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs, MS. All are welcome to come celebrate Mike and the beautiful life that he lived.
