Bobby Louis Wright

On Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 11:55p.m., a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Mr. Bobby Louis Wright, was called Home.  He was born January 18, 1949, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and was the eighth son of eight children born to the late Arthur Lee Wright and the late Lula Mae Berry Wright.

He was employed with Ingalls Shipbuilders for several years, retired from the City of Pascagoula, and was a well-known DJ in the area from the 70’s to recently that showed his passion for music.

Bobby is a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and attended Christian Love Church of the Living God in Moss Point, MS.

As an athlete, Bobby attended Carver High School from 1964-1967 and was a stupendously great “Drum Major,” and attended Magnolia High School Marching Band from 1967-1969, that allowed him to show off his talents on the football field, as well as on and off the dance floor, but his heart was in DJ’ing.  Bobby was known across the Gulf Coast, he was outspoken, private, loving, dependable, friendly, and had a loving smile.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee and Lula Mae Berry Wright; five brothers, Arthur Wright, Jr., Earlie Wright, Hardy Wright, Willie Glenn Wright, and Charles “Billy” Wright; six sisters-in-law, Joyce Ann Wright, Hazel Wright, Wilma Wright, Mildred Wright, Ollie Pearl Wright, and Ann Wright; two nephews, Larry Wright and Christopher Coleman.

He will be forever missed and loved by his wife, Annie Wright; seven children, Gia (Joaquin), Genea, Daria (Damian), Byron (Annette), Charles, Lorin, and Danica (Carlos); eleven grandchildren, Peter (Brandy), Jessica, Tarencia, Adria, Ticee, Niya, Peyton, Aria, Duke, Sherita, and Lucas; seven great-grandchildren, Zonata, Alana, Harmony, Aiyana, Z’yan, GioVanni and Kaiden; four step-children, Lakethers, Kimberly, Tanise, and Tear; and two brothers; Elbert Lee Wright of Moss Point, MS, Dr. Donald (Sherry) Wright of Jackson, MS; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  He also leaves to cherish his memories two special friends; Sam Jones and Raven Taylor.
