Johnnie Benyard Sr. was born on December 23, 1928, to Robert Henry Benyard and Nazerine Tucker in Lee County Georgia.
He departed this life on August 9, 2019, in Lucedale Mississippi with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn in his passing his devoted children, John Benyard of Richmond, California, Dennis Benyard, Carrie (Clarence) Bradley and Janice (Ken) Hopkins all of Lucedale, Mississippi. He also leaves behind his sister Sheila Scott of Norfolk Virginia and a special niece Belinda (Herbert) West of Albany Georgia. His daughter-in-laws Ingrid (Bobby) Benyard of Dallas Texas, and Cathy (Tom) Benyard of New Augusta, Mississippi. A sister in law Helen (Woody) Ward of Lucedale, MS. His special friend Inez Sinclair, Eddie Sinclair and the Sinclair family. Johnnie also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family & friends.
Johnnie worked hard his entire life and he also lived his life to the fullest with no regrets. He loved watching the news and talking about the stock market and current events. He also loved to hear daily how his grandkids and great-grandkids day went. He always encouraged us to work hard and to make an honest living. Johnnie said exactly what was on his mind. He was also a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Three of his favorite sayings were “just keep on living, always be great and don’t take no wooden nickels from anybody”. He was well respected in this community and was known and loved by all.
He is preceded in death by his wife Annie Ruth Benyard, and sons Kelly Benyard, Tom Benyard and Bobby Benyard.
