Mary "Mea" Amelia Milam

Amelia Milam passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019, in Pascagoula, MS.

Amelia was born October 10, 1986, in Pascagoula, MS to Wayne and Dona Milam.  She lived her life to be with her family and friends whether kayaking or tubing the river, going to movies, or traveling the country.  She loved to serve others in need whether it was a friend or a stranger giving freely and asking nothing.  She doted on her niece and nephew and always made sure she had a bag of candy or toys to give them whenever she could.  Amelia was a master prankster and no one was safe whether a napping father or unsuspecting friend.  Her smile and laugh were infectious, and her spontaneity was legendary: midnight shopping trips, midweek parties, or just a pop-in to see a friend or family member. She was also a lover of animals having owned numerous critters of all kinds throughout her life.  Guinea pigs, squirrels (flying and other), rabbits, cats, an armadillo at one time, sugar gliders, but most especially her dogs: Scotty, Booger, and Jolie.

She is survived by her parents Wayne and Dona Milam of Big Point, MS; brother Blake (Laura) Milam of Ocean Springs, MS; Aunt Dana Coon of Helena, MS; Joyce (Bobby) Davis of Eupora, MS; nephew Dexter Milam and niece Sadie Milam of Ocean Springs, MS; many cousins, devoted friends, and Jolie her ever-present canine companion.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Quinton and Liz Kittrell; paternal grandparents Dan and Corrine Milam; Aunt Sandy Dearman.

A celebration of her life will be held at Church on the Rock located on Chicot St. in Pascagoula, MS on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 2:00 pm-3: 30 pm with a memorial service immediately following.
