Nathan McPherson, Jr. was born in Patterson, Louisiana, on January 22, 1951, to the late
Nathan McPherson, Sr., and Millie Warren McPherson. Nathan McPherson graduated from Hattie Watts
High School in Patterson, LA. As a child, Nathan confessed his life to Christ at New Salem Baptist Church
in Patterson, LA. After many years in the military, Nathan settled in Houston, Texas, where he retired from
Toyota. Nathan enjoyed traveling, trying new foods, and mainly enjoyed being around family and friends.
Nathan was a people person who enjoyed good ole conversation. Nathan served in the United States Army
for over 20 years, where he received an honorable discharge.
Nathan later decided to move to Gulfport, MS, where he decided to settle as his retirement location. It was
there he married his lovely wife, Wanda McPherson, on May 10, 2018.
Nathan leaves to cherish his many memories: four sons, David (Sharon) Stansbury of Baldwin, LA, Anthony (Dala) Stansbury
of Lafayette, LA, Donnie (Shonda) McPherson of Houston, Texas, and Nathan McPherson III of Clarksville, TN; one daughter,
Roselle McPherson of Severn, Maryland; four stepchildren, Nashon Smith, Ebon Smith, Marnia Posey, and Imani Lawrence; two
brothers, Donald (Audrey) McPherson and Reginald McPherson of Thibodeaux, LA; five sisters, Ada B. Young, Marie LeCompte
(Joe), and Geraldine McPherson of Lake Charles, LA, Christina (Daniel) Valentine of Morgan City, LA, and Livia McPherson
Buggage of Jacksonville, FL; one great-grandchild; 11 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and
friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nathan McPherson, Sr., and Millie Warren McPherson; one sister, Barbara Ann McPherson;
and one grandson, David Stansbury, Jr.
