Rebecca Knight

Rebecca Knight (61), a long-time resident of Jackson County, MS, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2019.  To know her was to love her.  Rebecca never met a stranger.  She was known as “Momma Knight” or “Granny” to everyone that walked through her door.  With a heart of gold, she touched the lives of everyone around her. 

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, John Payton, Jr.; her mother, Velma Nettles-Steen; her stepmother, Edna Ruth Richardson; her father, Charles Richardson; her stepfather, Melvin Steen and her brother, Keith Johnson.

She is survived by her four beloved sons, Cyrano Richardson, Dennis (Jenyfer) Knight, Jr., Kevin (Jessica) Knight, and Brandon (Violet) Knight; her stepdaughter, Chasity (Demetrius) Robins-Harris; her sisters, Nedra Williams, Melvina Wade, Robin Kea, Linda Richardson, Angela Lundy, Rachel Steen-Harris and Natalie Steen-Jackson; her brothers, Charles Richardson, Jr., Oliver Johnson, Rev. Raphael Johnson, Sr., Paul Steen and David Steen; 19 grandchildren (Chris, Jordan, Cierra, Jasmine & Cyrano, Jr.; Janae, Jazmene, Jeremiah, Jaelon, DeJa & Devyn; Carmen, Malakai & Taytum; Tyson, Nevaeh & Addison; Bobby & Victoria) and 4 great-grandchildren.  Rebecca is also survived by a host of nieces & nephews that held a special place in her heart, several cousins & close friends.
