Today, we celebrate a beautiful soul, Antonio Cadaryl “Pooh” Beans. He was born to Nekkita Rochelle Beans and Willie Earl McGowan on a cool Thursday morning of February 19, 1987. So full of life and a smile that radiates in every room, Antonio had a playful spirit that has left us all with memories of laughter and love. He touched so many people with the love he had and left a mark on brotherhood of support, a uncle’s wisdom, a friend’s compassion, and a son’s strength. Antonio had no greater passion than for the strength, empowerment, richness, love, and togetherness of his family, and through his eyes, everyone was his family. He loved his city. The love he holds for his mother, sisters, and nieces he would stop the world just to make it right. Antonio strived to go above and beyond for his cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. The girl cousins he loved to protect them, squeeze them with his warmth, and make them laugh. His boy cousins he laughed the loudest with and made plans for a better life. His aunties he loved to hug on, show tenderness, and cater. His uncles he loved to laugh and have deep conversations.
He was preceded in his death by his grandmother, Dersena Palmer; aunt, Rose Mary Beans-Doss; grandfather, Lewis Beans, Sr.; and uncle, Eric Beans.
He left memories and love to his mother, Nekkita Beans; three sisters, Jessica Beans, Deana Beans, and Willesha McGowan; two nieces, Aniya Beans and Avah Beans; two aunts, Katherine Glenn and Deanna Beans; four uncles, Austin Burton, Jeffery Beans, Jimmy Beans, and Lewis Beans, Jr.; he didn’t have brothers, but Markayle, Demonic, Labarron, and Greg couldn’t be any closer; cousins, Tamela, Tenisha, Tempest, Tyineka, Brandon, Tyrus, Timmy, Jamonica, Antoine, Ricky, Kiana, Briana, Portia, Tyneka, Brian, Kentrel, Jimmy Jr., and Marquis he adored; partner, La Kendra Parker; best friends, Erica, Jessica, Keisha, and Joyclnn; godmother and sister, Claudia and Kenisha McCoy; and so many more he left with love and great care. Antonio looks down on us all with joy in his heart and a smile big as the one he left upon all of our faces. With his heart full of love for his family, Antonio also loved music, gaming, and family functions. If anyone called him to come, he was there with so much support and encouragement. Antonio also had a passion for cooking. He loved to cook steaks, ribs, breakfast, oxtails, and so much more, and he loved more than anything to feed and host. Over these final years, he didn’t get a chance to do it as much, but I know in his eternal life he will feed us forever. Antonio is looking down on us smiling. For this day, he would be proud.
A message to Antonio: I hope we make you happy as you made us. You were the sweetest person on this planet, stubborn, and spoiled. You were just as you wanted and spread that same passion, protection, and love to all those you crossed paths with. Not a single person hated you for every last one of us love and adore you. We will hold you in our hearts forever more. We love you, Pooh, and will carry your name forever.
