Alton Brent Brown, a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on April 11, 2026.
Mr. Brown was renowned for his infectious humor and profound love for fishing. His life was characterized by immense joy, laughter, and cherished moments spent with his family. He derived great pleasure from playing practical jokes, bringing smiles and laughter to all he encountered. His passion for fishing was rivaled only by his unwavering dedication to his family, whom he treasured above all else. The countless memories of fishing with his son, Brett, and numerous family gatherings will be deeply cherished by all who knew him.
Brent was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita Brown; his mother, Florene Wilson; his stepfather, Lee Wilson; his grandson, Braxton Brown; and his siblings, brothers Kelly Brown and Steve Wilson, and sisters Helen Seaman, Genova Pate, Linda Rogers, and Tressie Means.
He is survived by his son, Brett Brown, and his wife, Laura; his daughter, Glynna Brown; and his grandchildren: Brendan Brown (Layla Woodard), Kaitlyn Young (Clay Smith), Keirsten Young (Phillip Overman), Ty Russell (Nikole), Hunter Russell (Sabrina), and Peyton Russell (Haylee). He also leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Tyson, Dean, Baleigh, Tucker, and Channing; sisters, Rita Stead, Donna Smith,Debbie Black, and Kathy Thornhill; and brothers, Danny Wilson and Jimmy Wilson;along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per his final wishes, no formal service will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be determined and announced by the family at a later date.
