Ms. Amanda Sue Blake-Johns, a proud native of Jackson County, Mississippi, and a beloved resident of Grand Bay, Alabama for the past 36 years, peacefully gained her wings on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 3:20 p.m. while at Mobile Infirmary. Amanda was employed with Circle K for fourteen years as a dedicated and friendly cashier. She deeply loved her family and carried a heart as sweet as gold. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, crocheting afghans, yard selling, and never turning down a good card game (especially if she could find a clever way to win by cheating!).
She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Wanda Kelsey Blake; her father, Gene Leon Blake; and her cherished son, Anthony Dickens.
Amanda’s memory will live on in the hearts of her children: daughters, Bridgette Balius, Patches Manka, and Jennifer Dishon; sons, James Dishon, David Dishon, and Elijah Dishon. She is also survived by her devoted brother, Raymond “Pete” (Cindy) Blake; loving sisters, Candy (David) Sims and Nora (Steve Gregory) Nixon; her special friend, Rose Charlton; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends who will forever miss her warmth, wit, and unwavering love.
