Anna Carla Childress

Anna Carla Childress 45 years old born December 1, 1976, died on September 13, 2022.  Anna is survived by her mother, Antonia Childress; sister, Barbara Orr; brothers, Adam Childress, Michael Childress, and Earl Childress; nephew, Connor Orr; nieces, Devyn Gaito and Jessica Childress.

Preceded in death before her father, Emery C. Childress Jr.; brother, Eric Childress and Edward Childress.

My daughter had many professions varying from gymnastic instructor which was her greatest passion to dual rate floor supervisor in the casino industry. One of her greatest accomplishments was being a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, receiving a trophy in the state of Mississippi competitions. She also enjoyed music and loved to dance II

My daughter was a strong, good person who always tried to bring happiness and help to all that surrounded her. She never let her pain or struggles affect her friendships she had a true joy for living. Anna always had a smile and always made our family laugh even when we were sad or mad. She somehow always came out on top.

She battled cancer 4x and beat it. But sadly the 5th time was the final fight.   My daughter opted to go without treatment, tired of the fight and the pain that came with treatment, she was heroic to her end still making all those around her who helped her through this journey laugh.

Her wishes upon her death were to be cremated and part of her remains to be spread in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Italy. The rest of her remains are to be kept with me, her mother, until my final days where we will both rest in the Childress burial plots in Joplin, MO.

With love and deep sorrow in our hearts for you Anna we are not saying goodbye only until we meet again. You will be missed. You are forever and never forgotten we love you, Mama and family.
