Beverly Slaton was born on September 25, 1960, in Tenton, New Jersey. She peacefully passed away in her sleep from natural causes on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Beverly had four brothers, one sister, two children, five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Throughout her adult life, she worked in the public service field, often in convenience stores, to support her two children.
Beverly was a special person to all who knew her. She was a loving and dedicated mother, often juggling multiple jobs to provide for her family. She consistently gave her best in offering financial support, emotional guidance, and physical attention to her children.
In her later years, Beverly continued to work to help support her grandchildren. She cherished her time spent at cookouts, birthdays, and holiday gatherings with her children and grandchildren, rarely missing a school function or special birthday event for any of them. For her, retirement simply meant more time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
Beverly was preceded in death by her son, John D. Miller Jr.; her parents, Eva Brown and Roy Thomas Sr.; her brother, Steven Touchard; and her brother-in-law, Jeffrey Hasty Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Tosha Miller, and son-in-law, Christopher Peacock; her siblings, Rebecca Hasty, Roy (Michelle) Thomas, James (Doris) Touchard, and Michael (Pamela) Touchard Sr.; her grandchildren, Trey Stewart, Jasmine Stewart, Anastasia and Chad Hill, Juleana Tisdale, and Carey (Alex) Roberds; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Athena Marie Hill.
