Bobby Dean Hooker, born on June 26, 1958, in Pontotoc, MS, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Vancleave, MS. He is survived by his beloved wife, Becky Hooker, whom he married on June 19, 1976, and their three children: BJ (Maegan) Hooker, Jesse Hooker, and Jenny Hooker. Bobby also leaves behind a cherished legacy of seven grandchildren—Chelsea (Dylan) Wright, Chase (Michaela) Sims, Wade (Shay) Sims, and Alexis (Josh) Necaise, Kayla (Brandon) Hooker, Garrett (Hailey) Hooker, and Baylen (Abby) Hooker—and ten great-grandchildren: Chase Lee Sims, Kenzie Sims, LJ Necaise, Haelynn and Tritt Sims, Oaklyn Sims, Myles Necaise, Warden Sims, Weston Hooker, and Alaina Wright, beloved sister Karen Sue Britt (Wayne), beloved Aunt Tine Gregory (Pete), special friend and sister Ila Kaye Carter (Gerald), sister Teresa Busby (Buddy), and many many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie and Ara Kidd, Edward and Lillie Hooker; his parents, Shirley and Billy Webb, and Jimmy Hooker; his in-laws, Havens and Doris Carter; his brother and sister, Cliff Carter and Mary Carter O’Brien; and his granddaughter-in-law, Cheynne Kille.
Bobby was a man of faith, a leader, and a mentor to many, always ready to lend a hand or lift others when needed. Known for his generous heart and caring nature, his laughter and smile were contagious, lighting up any room he entered. He was talented in woodworking and enjoyed making his famous salsa and jellies. Bobby loved spending quality time with his family and was deeply devoted to his church community.
A passionate sports fan, he rooted for his favorite teams with pride, cheering for the New Orleans Saints and the Ole Miss Rebels.
Bobby’s impact on the lives of his family and friends will be remembered forever, as he truly had a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
