Candy Lee Loris

Candy Loris left this world on July 7, 2026, proving that even her final exit was completely on her own terms. The world got a little quieter that day, but anyone who knew Candy knows she's probably still finding a way to stir things up wherever she is.

It was truly a pleasure to know Candy. She was a teenager at heart, fiercely independent, wonderfully stubborn, and about as free-spirited as they come. Rules were more like suggestions, plans were optional, and if you were her sister, she either canceled on you at the last minute or sprang plans on you at the last minute. If something made her happy, she was going to do it—whether anyone approved or not. She collected lifelong friends everywhere she went, turning many of them into family, along with numerous adopted nieces and nephews who proudly claimed her as their own.

Candy was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Loris; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Dorthy Loris; her maternal grandmother, Susie Harrell; and far too many other beloved family members to list. Heaven doesn't know what it's in for.

She leaves behind her father, John Loris; her sister, Johnnie Jo Trevino (Anthony); her nieces and nephews, Jensen, June, and John Paul; her devoted partner, Robert Dunaway, who loved her through it all and went above and beyond in every way; and countless lifelong friends who became family.

A celebration of Candy's life will be held at a later date. We hope you'll join us to share stories, laughter, and the memories that made her unforgettable.

If you want to honor Candy's memory, wear black if that's your thing—she'd probably approve. Tell the inappropriate joke. Take the spontaneous trip. Blast your favorite song a little too loud. Do what makes you happy, love your people fiercely, and live life the way Candy did—with a wild heart, a stubborn streak, and absolutely no apologies.

We'll miss you forever, Candy. And if there really is an afterlife, we have no doubt you've already found a way to keep everyone entertained.
