Carlos Turner, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Carlos Turner, Sr., age 53, was a native of Butler, AL, and a resident of Gautier, MS for the past 18 years. He was born May 23, 1968, in Butler, Alabama to the late Mrs. Voncile Turner Mitchell and Mr. Thomas Watson. He departed this earth to receive his heavenly wings on Monday, May 24, 2021. Carlos Sr. attended Choctaw County High School. He was employed by Huntington Ingalls as a Welder Foreman.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, the late Mr. Willie Wiley Turner and the late Mrs. Carrie Lee Turner, and paternal grandparents, the late Mr. Kelly Watson and the late Ms. Charlie Mae Rodgers. Carlos Sr. was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family, and he was driven to give them the life he felt they deserved. Carlos Sr. was known for taking pictures and capturing all the special moments in life. Anyone who knew Carlos Sr. knew that he was the most loving father, grandfather, and husband a family could ask for.

 He leaves with cherished memories, a loving and devoted wife, Tayna Franklin-Turner of 18 years. He also leaves to cherish five loving children, Anthony Deon Williams (Leslie) of Putnam, AL; TiKhara Turner –Gonzalez (Ernest) of Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA; Carlos Turner, Jr. of Punta Gorda, FL; Ricardos Turner, Sr. of Destin, FL; Cartez Turner, Sr. of Marietta, GA; one stepdaughter, Nikitia Warren-Busby (Joe) of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Morgan Turner (Shanesha) and Deon Mitchell of Meridian, MS; one sister, Pamela Eason (Raymond) of Meridian, MS; three-step -brothers Markell Goodwin of Birmingham, AL; Demond Watson of West Palm Beach, FL and Morris Watson of Butler, AL; two step-sisters, Danielle Goodwin of West Palm Beach, FL, and Shannon Watson of Denver, CO; step-mother, Mrs. Emma Jean Watson of Butler, AL; five grandsons, Elijah Williams, Taavi Warren, Ricardos Turner, Sr., Markel Turner, Cartez Turner, Jr.; six granddaughters, Taylor Turner, Ava Gonzalez, Taraji Turner, Eva Gonzalez, Andrea Davis, Journey Abrams; four step-grandsons, Nicholas Dale, Jacob Dixon, Keyon Thomas, and Zaire Busby; three step-granddaughters, Keyona Thomas, Jayla Dixon, and Zoe Busby; with two little blessings on the way; mother-in-law, Mrs. Joyce Franklin and father-in-law, the late Frank Franklin, Jr. of Meridian, MS; along with nephews, nieces and close cousins, other relatives, and friends who will all miss him so very dearly.
