Carol Marie McElroy Green, age 75, of Pascagoula, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on
January 20, 2026, in her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Carol was born on November 25, 1950, in Biloxi, Mississippi. She spent her life along the
Mississippi Gulf Coast, where she built a life rooted in hard work and a deep love for family.
On April 29, 1973, Carol married Jacob Francis Green III (Jake), beginning a devoted marriage
that spanned more than five decades. Carol and Jake were members of Faith Christian Center
in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Carol had a strong and varied professional career. She worked for nine years at Mississippi
Power and later retired in 2010 after 20 years of service at Singing River Hospital, where she
served as an administrative liaison for MedWorks. She was known for her dedication, reliability,
and the care she brought to her work supporting others in the healthcare field.
Carol also had a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Her family originated Edd’s Drive Inn, a business
that held special meaning to her and her loved ones. She later owned and operated an antique
business in Moss Point and loved spending her time at flea markets and auction sales, always
searching for unique finds. In addition, she was a direct distributor for Amway Corporation for 13
years and achieved the distinguished title of Qualified National Marketing Director with National
Safety Associates (NSA).
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Terril McElroy (Ed); her mother, Rebecca
McElroy Denton; and her stepfather, Robert Denton.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jacob Francis Green III (Jake) and son Ricky Cannette.
Carol was loved dearly by her family, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who will always
cherish her presence, guidance, and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 25, at Faith Christian Center, located at
1710 Government Street, Ocean Springs, Mississippi 39564. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.,
followed by a special service at 2:00 p.m.
Carol will be remembered for her determination, entrepreneurial spirit, and the warmth she
shared with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the
memories held by those who loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her
memory to Faith Christian Academy in Ocean Springs.
