Mr. Charles Ray Pinkney, Jr., was born to Charles Ray Pinkney, Sr., and Charity Street Pinkney. On January 30, 2023, Charles Ray left his earthly home and transitioned to his heavenly home with his Father and Jesus Christ. Charles Ray graduated from Carver High School in Los Angeles, CA. Early in life, he accepted Christ and was baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church. He continued his life as a faithful member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Charles Ray met and married Marilyn Ezell. He loved his wife dearly, and to this union were born ten children. Charles worked at International Longshoreman Association for 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Ezell Pinkney; parents, Charles Ray Pinkney, Sr., and Charity Davis Foster; grandparents; Samuel and Mary Pinkney and Mary E. Street; two sons, Kim Pinkney and Eric Pinkney; three brothers, Eddie Davis, JD Davis, and Darnell; and two sisters, Mary Lou English and Charlene Pinkney Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his one son, Frederick Pinkney; seven daughters, Marilyn (Lesa) Pinkney, Sharon (Willie) Booker, Ava (Daniel) Henderson, Nancy Pinkney, Carmen Pinkney, Charity Pinkney, and Nicole Green; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Pastor Willie (Annie) Pinkney, Norman Davis, Clarence Pinkney, Christopher Pinkney, and Louis Pinkney; six sisters, Margaret Lawrence, Gloria Moye, Sharon Pinkney Reed, Jewel Pinkney, Claudia Pinkney Murphy, and Tia Pinkney Bascus; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (George) Locke and Janet (Carlton) Wells; and a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss him.
