Cherie Lynn Kennington
June 3, 1956 – March 18, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Cherie Lynn Kennington, who left this world on March 18, 2025. She was born on June 3, 1956, in Pasadena, Texas, to Robert J. Fisk and Bonnie R. Fisk, who preceded her in death.
Cherie was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a cherished sister and aunt. She leaves behind her daughters, Brandi M. Woytek and Britnee V. Erickson, who were the lights of her life. She was blessed with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Diane Lloyd and Vicki Fuller, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt “Rie.”
Cherie was the life of the party—her laughter was infectious, and her presence lit up every room she walked into. She had a passion for plants and gardening, creating beauty wherever she went. She adored hummingbirds, finding peace and joy in watching them flutter about. A die-hard New Orleans Saints fan, she cheered for her team with unwavering enthusiasm, always ready to shout “Who Dat!”
She also knew how to “throw down in the kitchen,” whipping up meals that brought everyone together and left them coming back for seconds. Whether it was a big family gathering or just a simple meal, she poured her love into everything she cooked.
Her greatest joy was being surrounded by family and friends, making memories filled with love, laughter, and good food. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of Cherie’s life will be held at a later date. Details of the memorial service will be updated as information becomes available.
