February 13, 2024

Deborah "Debbie" Dodge, 67 years young, captured her last sunrise, surrounded by love on February 13, 2024, in Helena, MS. She was born on October 5, 1956, in Virginia where she was nearly a life-long resident of Chesapeake.

Debbie was always known for her kind-hearted nature, enjoyable company, positive outlook on life, lovable personality, and spunky spirit. She was adored by many, never met a stranger, and will be deeply missed by all. Debbie was always the best party and event planner as well as everyone's personal photographer, capturing so many cherished memories of everyone else, but seldom of herself.

She is survived by her beloved grandson, Julian Pruitt; niece, Ruthie Bishop; nephew, Michael Themides, Jr.; niece, Evelyn Bolac; niece, Jennifer Mercer; sister, Eva Litchfield; niece, Dottie Norsworthy; nephew, Jimmy Scarborough; and sister-in-law, Pamela Themides.

Debbie was preceded in death by her daughter, Chryslin Pruitt; brother, Michael Themides, Sr. (Bubby); sisters, Chrysi Brooks, Frances Scarborough and Ruth Ann Edwards; soul-sister, Rhonda O'Neal; mother, Eva Themides; and father, Christopher Themides as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

In her earlier years, Debbie enjoyed traveling the world, freelance photography with a specialty in glamour shots, spending time with her family, painting and watching "The Golden Girls" on repeat. Hootie & the Blowfish were one of her most listened to bands. Beach sunsets on Hatteras Island or in Hawaii were her favorite.

In a tribute that's as unique as Debbie's signature on a portrait, a tree will be planted in her memory by Hospice of Light. This living legacy is part of a tradition that ensures the roots of love continue to grow in honor of those who have passed.
