Dorothy Jean “Evans” Scott, 66, of Helena, MS, passed away September 15, 2022, in Moss Point, MS with her family by her side. Dorothy was born in Jackson County, MS on November 27, 1955.
She was the owner of Scott’s Smokin Vapors in Lucedale. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved Mardi Gras, old cars, Cruising the Coast, the river, crawfish boils with her family, thrift store shopping, her puppies Sugar Man & BB, and her cats Biscuit and Gravy. To know Dorothy was to love her, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha Lou “Dunn” Boutwell and Alvin Andrew Evans; brothers, Robert A. Evans and Billy R. Evans; sister, Betty Lou McNeely; and great-grandbaby, Cailen A. Sheppard.
She is survived by her children, Wayne (Leah) Gordon, Tammy (Tim) McCary, Jennifer (Jason) Sellers, Brittany (Richard) Sellers; brothers, Gary (Cynthia) Evans and Terril (Darlene) Evans; sisters, Tina E. Slater, and Marla J. Atkins; niece, Destiny Lewis raised as a sister; grandchildren, Chase (Samantha) Owen, Chasity (Brett) Owen, Cheyenne (Cayston) Sheppard, Cecily (Leon) Millette, Colton Druey, Jason Sellers Jr., Ty Druey, Alyssa (Joe) Gordon, Mackenzie Gordon, Hailey Gordon, Naomii Gordon, Madelynn (Chris) Parrish, John Morosky IV, and Jesse Scott Jr.; great-grandchildren, Olyvia Owen, Paisley Owen, Carson Owen, Chloe Sheppard, Brelynn Sheppard, Braydon Sheppard, and Ellie Lipsey; along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
