Douglas Lin Bauman, aged 58, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, in Lucedale, Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. After completing his service, he returned to the Coast for a short period before going back to Germany, where he worked at M.R. Co. in Regensburg for 30 years. He retired four years ago and then returned to the Coast again.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Jan Welker and stepson, John Tambic.
Doug is survived by his wife, Eva; his father and bestfriend Linwood Bauman; his stepmom, Pam Bauman; his daughters, Mandy Wentzel (Lukas) and Mica Roberts (Benjamin); his stepsons and friends, Denis and Alexander Tambic; his grandchildren, Isabell and Philipp Wentzel and Jonah Roberts; his sister, Samantha Sellers (Mark) and a special fur baby, Mo.
Additionally, there is a very special cousin, Tony Davidson, who drove seven and a half hours to visit Doug shortly before his passing. Tony, along with Doug, Doug’s sister, and cousins Konnie Risinger and Bryan Thacker, were all members of the Ditch Crew. They shared fond childhood memories of when they use to meet weekly to play in the ditch at their Granny’s house.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. James Martin of Ocean Springs and also to the Hospice of Light services. We cannot thank their employees enough. They were all very professional and at the same time compassionate.
Doug was a very quiet and private person, therefore, there will be no service held.
