Douglas Brewer Obituary

Douglas Byron Brewer passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2022, in Pascagoula, MS. Doug was born on August 30, 1953, in Hamilton, OH.

Douglas moved to Las Vegas, NV as a young boy. He graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 1971. While at BGHS Doug was a member of the golf team, he remained an avid golfer all his life.

Doug began a career in the casino industry when he turned 21 years old. He began dealing Blackjack and went on to become proficient in all table games. He spent the last 12 years working for the Seminole Immokalee Casino in Immokalee, FL., his last stop in a long and successful career. He retired as table games shift manager after 47 years of doing work that he loved.

Doug was a sports enthusiast. He played baseball growing up in Las Vegas and the only bigger Cincinnati Reds fan might have been his dad. He loved Ohio State football and took so much pleasure in the Cincinnati Bengals being in the Super Bowl this year. He also loved music! Classic rock, the louder the better. He enjoyed regaling us with stories of the bands that he had an opportunity to see back in the day. One of my favorites, seeing Ten Years After and Led Zepplin at the Ice Palace. Doug loved cars and was looking forward to taking in all the Cruisin the Coast festivities this year for the first time.

Doug and his wife, Dana enjoyed grilling out and entertaining. They spent many summer vacations in La Jolla, California with family and friends. They moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in April to be near Doug’s family.  Douglas was predeceased by his father, Richard Ward Brewer, his nephews Bradley Michael Brewer and Matthew James Guay and his step-grandson Cyle Colianni, his grandmother Sylvia Richey and mother-in-law Zarine Pearson.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dana Brewer and his fur baby Sabrina, his stepsons, Christopher Sr. and Jeff Colianni and his step-grandsons, Christopher Jr., Dominick, and Gabriel.

His mother Charlene Brewer and his siblings, Cynthia Bunn (Steve), Bradley Brewer, and Heather Brewer. Numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Doug will be missed dearly by friends and family alike.

Douglas is in the care of Guardian Angels Funeral Home Pascagoula, MS. As per his wishes, there will be no public service. Please remember Doug and his family in your prayers.
