Ernest Sellers, Sr. Obituary

Ernest Bernard Sellers, a proud veteran, dedicated worker, and loving family man, has peacefully passed away. He leaves behind a rich legacy defined by his service to his country, his strong work ethic, and the deep devotion he held for his family and friends. A proud veteran, Ernest enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on November 8, 1972. Following his honorable discharge from military service, he channeled his dedication into his professional life. He spent many years working as a skilled laborer at Ham Industries and later at the Huntington Ingalls Shipyard, where he was highly respected by his colleagues. He was an alumnus of Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Ernest was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ernest and Fronnie Sellers; his grandparents, Ollie Dailey, John, and Lucille Sellers; his brother, Danny Sellers; his sister, Sandra Sellers; and his special friend, Patricia Mushatt. His memory will be forever cherished by his surviving family, including his siblings: brothers, Ras Rasheen I of Moss Point, Mississippi, Allen Sellers and Dale (Felicia) Sellers, both of Vancleave, Mississippi; and sister, Mary Adams of Gautier, Mississippi; He was a proud and wonderful father to his children: daughters Sonja Shongwe of Baltimore, Maryland, Dana Danielle Sellers, and Stacey Tina Sellers of Newark, Delaware; and sons, Ernest Martin of Houston, Texas, Ernest Sellers Jr., Steven Sellers, and James Sellers, all of Pascagoula, Mississippi.

He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Keyaira Richardson of Baltimore, Maryland; Ananda Sellers, Ameir Sellers, and Adrian Sellers of Newark, Delaware; Alaila Martin and Samara Martin; Ernest Martin Jr. of Katy, Texas; and Amir Martin and Amira Martin of Brookshire, Texas. He is additionally survived by a host of loving nieces, including Katara Sellers, Sophronia Alexis Brown, Decorya Sellers, Nicole Shantell Coles, Anneisha Sellers, and Erykah I; as well as his nephews, Marcus Sellers, Michael Sellers, Richard Adams Jr., Setari Drux, Meriah I, Rastafari I, Naim I, Dale A. Sellers, and Justin Pearson.

The family extends a very special thanks to Ernest's cousin, Miss Terricine Sellers, for her love, care, and support.
