Eugene King, Jr. transitioned to his Heavenly home on Friday, April, 29th 2022. He was a resident of Pascagoula, MS. He was born to Eugene King, Sr. and Viola Besteda-King on February 15, 1947 in Demopolis, AL. and affectionately called Gene.
After proudly serving his country with the U.S. Navy receiving an honorable discharge, in 1974, Gene started a new career at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was known as the expert in Supply Chain Management, primarily due to his work ethic, vast knowledge of Shipbuilding materials and his incredible memory. This became his life’s passion and he remained there for 45 year before retiring in 2019. People gravitated towards his genuine heart of gold and welcoming personality.
He was proceded in death by his parents, Eugene King Sr. and Viola Besteda-King; siblings, Eddie Besteda, Ruth Besteda, Rosevelt Besteda, James Richardson and Henry King.
Eugene leaves to cherish his memory from Mobile, AL, his sister Olivia Richardson and brother Harrison King; his caregivers and friends, Roslynn Gatrey and Sonia Monagan; devoted friends, Oscar Ashford, Billy Lang and Raymond Wilson; neighbor, Eric Weathersby; a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and many others who loved him dearly.
