Gloria Diane Stewart, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, on her 65th birthday.
Gloria was born in Mobile, Alabama, the eleventh child of Doris and Gay Parker. She spent her life speaking her mind, loving fiercely, and caring deeply for those around her. Gloria adored red roses and cherished weekends spent on the river with her family. She even had a playful side—famously not fond of lizards or frogs—which always brought a smile to those who knew her.
She was a kind-hearted woman who worked for many years in nurseries and also spent time working at Walmart. Gloria and her husband, Lewis Stewart Jr., shared 47 years of love, marrying on April 24, 1979, when she was just 18 years old. She loved her daughters fiercely and fought her battle with cancer bravely. Gloria was incredibly proud of her grandchildren—Brian Remily Jr., Kamden Remily (Dakota Lane), Joshua Harper, Mallori Sellers, and Arabella Harper—and cherished each of them deeply.
She was a devoted sister and a loving aunt who cared deeply for her nieces and nephews, and she enjoyed spending time with her sisters. Gloria will be remembered as an amazing woman with a big heart and a kind soul.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Lewis Stewart Jr.; her daughters, Jennifer Sellers (Edward Sellers) and Theresa Harper (Jesse Harper); her grandchildren, Brian Remily Jr., Kamden Remily (Dakota Lane), Joshua Harper, Mallori Sellers, and Arabella Harper; and her siblings, Gail Carter, Charles Parker, and Denise Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris Parker and Gay Parker; her brothers, Gay Parker Jr., William Clyde Parker, and Randall Alden Parker; and her sisters, Deborah Marie Parker, Sharon Elizabeth Parker, Patricia Ann Thomas, and Linda Arlene Matthews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 2nd at Agricola Shelter, 3161 Cooks Corner Rd, Lucedale, MS 39452, where family and friends are invited to gather and honor her incredible spirit. Gloria’s love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
