Henretta Stevens Ward was born on August 26, 1956, in Grand Bay, Alabama. She peacefully departed this life on June 22, 2025, at the age of 68.
Henretta attended Moss Point High School and worked several jobs throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed preparing and cooking meals.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert McMillian and Sennie McMillian Nelson, Howard and Narie Stevens; her parents, Sam Jefferson McMillian Sr. and Mattie Ella Stevens-Jones; a son, Erskine Montell Rushton; a grandson, Donald Ray Broadnax III; and her special friend, Willie James Polk.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, Ronnikell Rushton-Broadnax and Youlonder (Derrick Thomas) Ward both of Gautier, MS; a son, Darrell M. Rushton of Pensacola, FL; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, five sisters; Tammie (Reuben) Taite of Moss Point, MS., Monica “Roshell” Bridget of Mobile, AL, Ligreta “April” McMillian, Mary “PeeWee” Jones and Natasha (Christopher) Kirkland all of Pascagoula, MS; brothers, Samuel J. Andrews of Gulfport, MS; Sam (Lorraine) McMillian Jr. of Mobile, AL, Terry McMillian of Moss Point, MS, Albert McMillian, and Howard Jones Jr. of Pascagoula, MS; Goddaughter, Shamecka Stewart-McNeal; her special friends; Bettie Avery Johnson and Rosie Mary Stennis; four aunts and one uncle; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
