Hilda Faye Nelson

GOD gave her life…

Hilda Faye Nelson was given life on December 5, 1953. She was born to the late Clara Mae Campbell and John Lee Fantroy.

A time to live…

Hilda lived a vivid life; she showed great passion and love to her family, friends, church members, and Pascagoula Negro/Carver High School Alumni Association. Everyone she encountered was treated as FAMILY “COUSIN” to be exact. It didn’t matter how far down the bloodline, her family was her family and she would proudly let it be known by the title one would be given… BIG COUSIN, RICH COUSIN, FAVORITE COUSIN, LOW-DOWN COUSIN, LIL COUSIN, the list could go on and on.  She also titled her nieces and nephews in the same manner.

Hilda became a faithful and loyal member of Christian Love Church of the Living God in December 2000 under the leadership of D.A. Graham. She served on the Alternate Usher’s Board. She was that usher that would pray for you, comfort you, and by the time it was all over, you would become her usher. She would simply say, “Baby I’m so sorry, but the spirit got a hold to me too,” and then proceed to give you something sweet from her treat bag.

Hilda was a proud active member of Pascagoula Negro/Carver High School Alumni Association. She assisted on the decoration committee as well as spearheaded the talent shows acts for the CLASS OF 1971 during the All Class Reunion events.

When God called her home…

Hilda was proceeded in death by her parents; Clara Campbell and John Lee Fantroy; daughter, Christy Nelson; grandchildren, Cordaryl Weathersby and Tebreelen Nelson; brother, Robert Wayne.

A time to mourn…

She leaves to cherish her memories children; Tia Nelson, Tyron Nelson, both of Pascagoula, MS, and Sharee Weathersby of Gulfport MS; grandchildren, Markayla Nettles, Jashon Price, Kylon Nelson, Langston Nelson, Tyneka Weathersby, and Rydreka Weathersby, all of Pascagoula, MS; sisters, Portrene Campbell of Moss Point, MS, Nanette (Arthur) Fritz of Perris, CA, Freda Fantroy of Qual Valley, CA, and Franzetta (Donyell) Magee of Hemet, CA; brothers, Ambrose Nelson of Pascagoula MS, Fernando (Lula) Fantroy of Gresham, OR, Gerald (Brenda) Harris of Cincinnati, OH, Carl (Clemetine) Fantroy of Biloxi, MS, Barry D. Fantroy of Victorville, CA, and Charles Harris of Ocean Springs, MS; aunt, Deloise (Raymon) Simmons of Moss Point, MS; devoted companion, Michael Daniels; special nieces, Latashia Coleman of Pascagoula, MS, LaDarica (Khaieka) Campbell of Tampa, FL, Kadesha Campbell of Gautier, MS, Kevinia Stringfield of Pascagoula, MS, and Ambria Hopkins of Jackson, MS; special nephews, Nakia Thomas of Pascagoula, MS and Dejuan Nelson of Jackson, MS; special cousins, Kim Bailey, Reba Bailey-Scott, Jane Seals, all of Moss Point, and Vanessa West of Pascagoula, MS; special friends, Alice Colley, Janice Dailey, and Sandra Mitchell; a host of great-nieces and nephews, loving devoted cousins other family members and friends. Friends and classmates are too numerous to count or name, so we consider them honorary members of the Nelson family.
