From The Beginning, the lively spirit of Jackie Calvin Davis was born. His story has 61 chapters and is one of transformations beginning on October 22, 1962, and ending on June 05, 2024. He was the 12th child born to the late Walter Davis and late Cora Knowles Davis. Jackie confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age under the leadership of Dr. L. D. Chapman. Jackie went on to be baptized giving him all rights and privileges as a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Jackie enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved dancing, and though he was confined to a wheelchair for fourteen years he never allowed the chair to defeat him. You could find him dancing from the chair at any given time or at a ball game up and down the court and field cheering at one of Pascagoula's facilities.
“Through The Eyes of Jackie Davis”, His main focus was on God, his dog, his family, and then the community/Hood and Pascagoula School District Athletics. Jackie believed in his African Heritage and started the first Ebony Blanch Club to be held in the Pascagoula School District and the meeting was held at Pascagoula Jr. High School. Jackie was a proud graduate of the mighty class of 1981 at Pascagoula High School and went on to attend MGCCC, Perkington Campus.
Jackie was one of a kind and was loved for his witty ways. He could make you laugh when you actually felt like crying. He had his own ways of doing things and often encouraged you to follow his leadership while taking part in community service. He was an advocate for our community/Hood and encouraged you to get out and vote and attend the City Board meeting.
