Jaylin Carmello Bass, age 22, was born on July 10, 2003, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Demetric Bass and Demetrick Gardner. He was raised in Gautier, Mississippi, where he grew up surrounded by family and friends and later graduated from Moss Point High School.
Jaylin was known for his love of life, his joyful spirit, and his passion for music—especially rapping. He dreamed of becoming a rapper and spent much of his time perfecting his craft. More than anything, he loved being around his cousins and friends, laughing, smiling, and making lasting memories.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Demetric Bass and Demetrick Gardner; his six brothers, Deshawn Bass (D’Iberville, MS), Jacques Bass (Gautier, MS), Ricardo Bass (Gulfport, MS), Jaylen Gardner, Demetrick Gardner Jr., and Tyrin Embry; and his three sisters, Tiara Taylor, Hennessy Little Mau, and Madison Gardner.
He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Roy (Sarah) Horne; paternal grandmother, Shirley Williams; and paternal grandfather, Walter Coldwell; along with a very special aunt, Judy Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Jaylin will be deeply missed by his close friends, Zaccarias Maupin, Vontravis Kelly, and LaLa Phillips, along with many others whose lives he touched.
