With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Jerry Darnell Brown, affectionately known to family and friends as “Man Man," who departed this life on January 5, 2026, at the age of 40. A native of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Jerry was shaped by the strong family ties and lifelong friendships he formed in his hometown. In June 2024, he embarked on a new chapter by relocating to Portland, Oregon, where he enjoyed exploring new surroundings while always remaining deeply connected to his roots and the loved ones he held dear.
Jerry was widely admired for his calm nature and down-to-earth personality. He possessed a unique, funny spirit that brought effortless laughter and comfort to any room he entered. A man of genuine heart, Jerry left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered, and his presence served as a source of joy for his community.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sharon Brown; his grandmothers, Mary Lane Brown and Josetta Pou; his grandfathers, Elton Troy Brown and Sylvester Gardner; and his cherished nephew, Rico Hawkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Jerry Keys; his son, Jamarious Brown; his daughter, Ma’Loni Brown; his sisters, Tonya Brown, Erica Brown both of Ocean Springs and LaSharon Brown of Vancleave, MS; his brothers, James Brown, Carlos Brown, and Damian Brown, all of Pascagoula, MS; his beloved friend, Frances Torres; and a host of aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
