Jimmy Claude Brake died at Ocean Springs Health and Rehab Facility of natural causes on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Jimmy was born on November 11, 1944, to Jewell Cephas Brake, Sr. and wife, Lillian Mae Brake of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He was raised in Arkansas and Mississippi. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He lived Gautier, Mississippi for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Lillian Brake, siblings, Jewell Cephas Brake, Jr., of Mississippi, Loretta B. Searcy, of Texas. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Brake of Mississippi, and sister, Brenda B. Hollis of Alabama, and children Eris Bill of Virginia, James Brake, of Hawaii, Kenneth Brake, Sr. of Virginia, and Ryan Brake of Mississippi as well as nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In his final weeks Jimmy had been cared for by Ocean Springs Health and Rehab Facility and hospice. The family would like to express their appreciation to Southern Care Hospice for their compassionate care. Appreciation to Guardian Angels Funeral Home of Pascagoula for final arrangements. The family is planning a memorial service to be scheduled at a later date.
