Mr. Joshua Jermaine Thornton was born on January 25, 1986, in Mobile, Al. He was a Chunchla, AL native for most of his childhood life before moving to the Gulf Coast, Jackson County area. Joshua was a very outgoing person who loved his family and being outdoors by the water. Fishing was his favorite thing to do. He was always bringing his smile and spirit wherever he was. He was always ready to encourage his family and friends to live with greatness. A loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. He will be truly missed and remembered best by his love for fishing and his love for his family.
Joshua was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gable; one brother, Shannon Dewayne Thornton; paternal grandparents, Robert Earl and Georgia Mae Gable; maternal grandparents, Janice Robinson and Lawrence Clark; and one cousin, Henry Johnson.
On May 29, 2024, Joshua was called home to be with his heavenly father. He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy to a loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Candace R. Thornton; two sons, Daylan and Derrell Ray both of Gautier, MS; parents, Charles and Katrina Watson of Pascagoula, MS; one sister, Sarina Thornton of Opelika, Al; one brother, Kerla Thornton of Oklahoma, Ok; three nephews, Anton, Aarion, and Jordan Thornton; one niece that he loved so very much, A’layah Ward; aunts, Carolee Poole of Moss Point, MS; Tammy (Anthony) Henard Nekol Blunt of Escatawpa, MS, and Elouise (Lenard) Branham of Chunchula, Al; uncles, Lawrence and Derrick Clark, Larry (Wanda) Gable, John (Marchelle) Wesley, and Richard Lucy of Chunchula, Al; one devoted friend/brother, Mr. Christopher Harris of Gautier, MS; along with a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
