Juanita D Steele

Juanita Dolan Steele of Ocean Springs passed away at her home on June 10, 2021, after a long and hard fight with lung cancer. She was born in Baton Rouge, LA on October 23, 1945, to Andrew James Dolan and Wilma Rachel Dolan.

Juanita was the daughter of a pipeliner so she spent her childhood traveling across the country following her father’s work in order for the family to always be together. The family moved to Ocean Springs in the 50’s and this is where Juanita graduated from high school and made her home for more than 60 years. She was an animal lover, especially horses and dogs, and her home was a safe place for many animals over the years. She was known for her quick wit, determined nature and free spirit.

Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow “Woody” Steele Jr., her parents Andrew and Rachel Dolan, her daughter Tia Beck and her sister Gail Welcher. Juanita is survived by her children; Juanita Walley, J.R. Walley (Kimberly), Andrew Steele and Christopher Steele as well as her grandchildren, Ryan Vain-Dolan, Austin Vain-Dolan, Chris Vain-Dolan, Rose Vain-Dolan, Lily Beck, Kaitlin Walley Brown, Zachary Walley and Rachel Katherine Walley, her sister Wanda Couch and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

At Juanita’s request, a memorial service will be held at her home for her family and close friends to celebrate her life in eternity.
