Ken Pittman was born in Anniston, Alabama on November 13, 1941, to Rex and Etoile Whidbee Pittman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry (Cathy) Pittman and his son Kenneth Rex Pittman, Jr. He is survived by his wife Noelle (Penny), his daughter Kelly Powers of Phoenix, his sister Peggy (Michael) Eley of Pascagoula and Kathy Teague, the mother of his two children. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Katy Powers of New York City, Jacob Powers, Natalie Powers, and Austin Pittman, all of the greater Phoenix area. A niece Ashley Cannady and family Norman, Eley, and Emmy of Ridgeland, MS.
He was raised and educated in Pascagoula, MS, and was a proud member of the Pascagoula High School Class of 1959. He earned a BS Degree from Mississippi College in 1963. Kenny was passionate about sports and could quote statistics of pro teams down to high school teams. In high school he played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. Ken was a four-year starter in baseball for the Mississippi College Choctaws. After graduation, he coached at Leland High School, Colmer Jr. High School in Pascagoula, Okeechobee High School and Vero Beach High School in Florida. For several years he and his wife founded and operated Inside Track in Phoenix, a company which provided ticket packages for Nascar events. He returned to his beloved Mississippi in 2020.
