Kimble Lee Mays was born in Laurel, Mississippi on December 26, 1934 to Willie Mays and Lillie Christine Mays (Lancaster). He grew up in Maysville, AL and Pascagoula, MS. He attended Alcorn University where he majored in science and math. Kimble worked as a photographer for the college and also enjoyed electronics and inventing projects. He dedicated his life to God and became a Jehovah’s Witness. Later he became a school teacher in Laurel. Shortly after this he began work as a full-time minister, a work close to his heart that he continued in for 55 years.
In 1974 he married his beloved wife Annie, and they became special pioneers in Georgia. His precious children were born in 1977, Azmon, and 1985, Christina. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roger, and sisters Delma and Deloris. He is survived by his wife and two children. Also his sister Dorothy Boston, Nebraska Mays, Wyvonne Henry, and a host of nieces and nephews. Mourning his loss are also several members of the Christian congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses who were like family to him.
