Larry Potter Jr. Obituary

Larry W. Potter Jr., 63, of Lucedale, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Born on September 17, 1962, Larry spent his life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and the things he loved most.

Larry was a proud graduate of Pascagoula High School, Class of 1980, and dedicated many years to Ingalls Shipbuilding as a welder and later a mechanic. Skilled with his hands, he had a passion for building, repairing, and maintaining pools.

Larry enjoyed cheering on the New Orleans Saints, watching Counting Cars, and spending quality time with family through backyard BBQs, summer vacations, and special adventures together. He also had a love for auto mechanics, race cars, classic rock music, yard work, and home projects. Larry will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, practical talents, and deep love for his family. He found joy in staying busy, fixing things, and sharing his knowledge and passions with others.

Larry Potter is survived by his wife, Wanda Potter of Agricola; his daughters, Elizabeth Jackson (Aaron), and LeAnn Ibarra (Sergio); his cherished grandchildren, Arthur and Edmund Jackson, and Mary Margaret Ibarra. He also leaves behind many other beloved family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved former wife, Patti Potter of Pascagoula, who passed away in 2009.

A Celebration of Life honoring Larry’s memory will be announced at a later date.

Though he is no longer with us, Larry’s love, strength, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort in the legacy of love he leaves behind and in the faith that they will see him again someday.
