Lavada Ann “Dee Dee” Williams, 77, of Moss Point, MS, passed away on January 6, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Vernal, MS to the late Carl Williams and Rose Walley Williams on October 14, 1945. Lavada worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding of Pascagoula, MS, before retiring to care for her mother. She was a faithful and devoted member of The Church of The Great God and a gentle, kind and loving soul. She enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her family, church family, and friends. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith - II Timothy 4:7. Dee Dee will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Rayborn Williams, Mary Rose Branam and James “Jimmy” Williams. She is also preceded in death by a great-nephew, Elliott Uriah Skipper, nephew, Bruce Branam and two brothers-in-law, Stanley Skipper and Charles Branam, as well as her beloved dog “Peanut.”
She is survived by her sister, best friend and caretaker, Jackie (Charles) Careno, sister-in-law, Sylvia Williams, Nephews Jeffrey Skipper, Brandon Skipper, Jeremy (Lacey) Skipper and Jared (Neilly) Skipper and Neices Wanda (Marlon) Carmeans, Angie (George) Nunguesser, Heather Skipper and Valerie (Donnie) Damazio, along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Orange Grove Cemetery in Orange Grove, MS with Rev. Wendell Stork officiating. Guardian Angels Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Skipper, Jeremy Skipper, Jared Skipper, Brandon Skipper, Charles Careno and Mickey Powell.
