With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Lea Darlene McInnis Stringer. Her Lord, God
Almighty, called her home on November 12, 2025 shortly after finishing a Rosary with her beloved
granddaughter, Laila, and daughter, Hillary. These sincere prayers to and meditations on the mysteries
of her loving savior, Jesus Christ, at the hour of her death were surely heard. She died peacefully in her
sleep with her daughter and granddaughter having just told her good night. Lea was known to be bubbly
and loving, often looking for opportunities to help others where she could.
Lea was born on August 21, 1967, and was a life-long resident of Jackson County from the Escatawpa
community. She was survived by her daughter, Hillary Nicole Stringer; granddaughter, Laila Sabria
Stringer; niece, Jessica Drake Holland (Wesley Holland); nephew, Reginald Scott Thomas, II; great-niece,
Lana Catherine Holland; brother, Billy Leon McInnis. Lea was preceded in death by her father, Leverage
C. McInnis, Jr. (“L.C.”), her mother, Lana Scott McInnis, and her sister and best friend, Yvette McInnis Thomas.
