Leroy Walker Sr.

On December 12, 1938 an extraordinary soul was born to Ida Mae Hollamen and L. M. Walker by the name of Leroy Walker. Brother Walker served in the United States Army. He married his beloved wife, Dorothy Walker, and moved to Pascagoula Mississippi. They shared 60 plus years of marriage. The love he shared was unmatched.

Brother Walker was employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding. After retiring from Ingalls, he and his wife Dorothy Walker owned a cleaning service and lawn care service.

During his 88 years of life, he was a strong and good-willed man. He took many people under his room. He was well-loved throughout the community. Wherever he was seen everyone called him, “Paw Paw” or “Mr. Walker”.

Throughout all of his transformations, Leroy continued to cherish our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He raised a total of 10 children. Brother Walker leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Dorothy Walker; his children, Patricia Brisco of Moss Point MS, Hermann Walker of Moss Point, MS, Lisa Knowles of Pascagoula, MS, Michael Walker of Gautier, MS, Michelle Walker of New Orleans, LA, Leroy Walker Jr., Ron Walker, and Eileen; three sisters, Deborah W. Arbuthnot (Clarence) of Gulfport, MS, Linda Walker-Annakee of McCalla, AL, Sally W. Adam’s of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, L.M. Walker (Cassandra) of Gulfport, MS and Joseph Walker (Mary) of Gulfport, MS.

Brother Walker was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Aretha “Rita” Walker; and brothers, Thaddeus N. Walker Sr, and Alden J. Walker.
