Our Lord called Linda Elaine Jordan to her new home on May 30, 2026. She was met by a host of dear friends as she walked through the Pearly Gates while being greeted with smiles, laughter, and countless hugs.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Ramon Jordan and her dearest mother, Nellie Smith Jordan.
She is survived by her sister, Annette O'Neill; her brother, Jerry Jordan; and her nieces, Stephanie and Jennifer. She is further remembered by her long-time friend Emilie Hall; her chosen daughter, Melissa Holman and Melissa's husband, Michael; and her chosen grandchildren, Jordan, Lora Grace, and Sam.
Colonel Jordan retired from the Air Force Reserve. Reverend Jordan served as the beloved pastor of Gautier Presbyterian Church and pastor of Binkley Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, NC. Doctor Jordan ended her long, illustrious career as Manager of the Unicorn Bereavement Center in Hillsborough, NC, and Manager of Duke Community Bereavement Services at Duke University. She also managed Bereavement Support Groups for them. Linda traveled across the country to teach the Critical Incident Stress Management course she authored. Doctor Jordan ended her long, illustrious career as Manager of Duke University Community Bereavement Services. Linda was brilliant at her craft as minister, teacher, consoler, and friend. She is remembered for her wit, wisdom, humor, compassion, love, and her lifelong work for our Lord. The family thanks Hospice of Light for their immeasurable help, care, compassion, and love that made Linda's journey easier. Thank you, Lisa, Johnese, and Emily. Gifts in remembrance of Linda can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or your local animal shelter. A Service of Remembrance honoring Linda's life and work will be held at a later date.
