Mrs. Mabel Lessie (Tait) Richardson was born on May 31, 1929, to the late Dewitt Talmage and Willie Ruth (Stanton) Tait in Burnt Corn, Alabama. She received her education in the Monroe County School District. She was united in holy matrimony with Willie Ray Richardson. This union was blessed with six children. Her devotion to Christ was exhibited early in life at Bethany Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Higgins. After relocating to Pascagoula, MS, she united with Antioch Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the Mission Department, Willing Workers, Daughters of Zion, and the Mass Choir under the leadership of Rev. L.D. Chapman. She continued her stewardship and faithfulness in the Senior Mission and Mass Choir under the pastoral leadership of Dr. John W. Davis until her health declined. Although she was no longer able to remain active in church, her passion for spiritual commitment never diminished. She enjoyed reading her bible, singing songs of Zion, and giving God praise. It was evident that she loved God, and she encouraged everybody in her presence to get to know Jesus. Her other passion was her membership in the George Washington Carver Court #140 Heroines of Jericho.
