On May 10, 1936, in Lucedale, MS, Mrs. Marilyn Annie Ezell Pinkney was born to Frederick and Aleser Banks Ezell. On December 25, 2020, Marilyn Annie left her earthly home and transitioned to her heavenly home with her Father, Jesus Christ.
Marilyn Annie attended Oak Grove Attendance Center in Lucedale, MS. Later, she graduated from Central High School in Mobile, AL. Early in life, she attended Lily Grove Baptist Church. She accepted Christ, and later converted to Catholicism, where she dedicated her faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She continued her life at St. Joseph Catholic Church, as a faithful member and catechism instructor.
Marilyn Annie met and married Charles Ray Pinkney. She loved her devoted husband dearly and to this union were born 10 children. Marilyn worked at Head Start for many years, as a Special Needs Coordinator.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Aleser Banks Ezell; grandparents, John and Mary Magdeline Frazier Banks, and Frank and Geneva Chatman Ezell; brother, Samuel Ezell; and two sons, Kim Pinkney and Eric Pinkney.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Charles Ray Pinkney of Basin, MS; one son, Frederick Pinkney; seven daughters, Marilyn (Lesa) Pinkney, Sharon (Willie) Booker, Ava (Daniel) Henderson, Nancy Pinkney, a devoted daughter and caregiver, Carmen Pinkney, Charity Pinkney, and Nicole (Timothy) Green; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn (George) Locke and Janet (Carlton) Wells; and a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, that will all miss her dearly.
