Miriam “Miki” Douglas English, age 74, of Vancleave, MS, passed away in the comfort of
her own home, surrounded by loved ones, on March 18, 2026. She was reunited in
heaven with her Savior and her husband.
Miki was born on November 10, 1951, in Columbia, MS, to her parents, Francile
Douglas and James Douglas. She lived a life defined by her unwavering faith and love
for her family and others.
Miki was known for her kind heart and determined nature. She had a deep desire for
her family to know the Lord, often encouraging them to attend church and grow in their
faith. She was also known for her joyful spirit; however, she was equally known for her
stubbornness – strong enough to move mountains or at least convince them to move
themselves.
Miki was a tenacious negotiator, a fierce online shopper, and a passionate interior
decorator (the walls were never the right color).
Miki was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Lloyd “Joe” English; mother,
Francile Douglas; father, James Douglas; and sister, Jane Randall.
Miki is survived by her two daughters, Danelle (Tony) Misch and Shianna English; her
son, James (Jessica) English; her sister, Karen Jones; her ten grandchildren, Alyssa
(Justin) Edgerton, Christian English, Faith Misch, Dylan English, Issak (Jalynn) English,
Caleb Graham, Brent (Katherine) English, Connor Skiados, Brooke English, and Aiden
Mosley; her four great-grandchildren, Kayson English, Asher English, Carter English,
and Zayden Graham; and several other loved ones.
A combined Celebration of Life for Miki and Joe will be held on March 28, 2026 at
Center Pointe Church (6201 MS-57, Ocean Springs, MS 39564). Visitation will be held
at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am.
