Nicolah Turk

And the Story Goes…….

On March 26, 1975, Madelene Turk – Hubbard and Elmer Gardner Jr. welcomed Nicolah Shante Turk into the world. She was raised with a strong family foundation rooted in faith in God and plenty of Love.  She was raised with the love of her parents that included her bonus father, Jessie Earl Hubbard. 

Nicolah was educated in the Moss Point School District. She was a proud member of the graduating Class of 1993.  In 1995 she made the decision to join the Navy. During her duty in the Navy she lived in various cities in this country and abroad. She served her country until 2001 and returned home.

Since her return home from the Navy she has owned and operated several businesses. She definitely was a “Boss”. Being an Entrepreneur allowed her to be able to maximize her time raising and caring for her children. Self-Employment gave her the ability to invest valuable time with her family as well. She prided herself on being there for her family when they needed her. She always put their needs before her own.

Before Nicolah’s Book of Life came to an end she was preceded in glory by her brother, David Hubbard and her dedicated Bonus Father, Jessie Earl Hubbard.

The longest memories of Nicolah will now be held in the hearts of and shared by her parents who are still with us both Madelene Turk – Hubbard and Elmer Gardner Jr.

Her parents will reminisce with joy all the years they had with her. They will recall those memories with her siblings. Maternal brothers: Dewayne Turk, and Jessie (Yolanda) Larry and Maternal Sister: Pamela (Mason) Hubbard. Paternal Brothers: Darren (Diana) Gardener, Jesmond Magee, Tyrek Conerly, Rashaad Magee, Brenan (Mary) Gardner, Kenyatta Buckley. Paternal Sisters: Wince Gardner, Janiya Hya Gardner, Shelia Tate, Angelia (Shelby) Goldman, Gabrielle Fluker, and Zenekia Gardner.

The memories from her parents and siblings will be cause for great discussion and laughter as they are shared with her children. Those memories will serve as the foundation she gave her children. Her Life and Legacy will be cherished and carried on by her four children: Quanisha Washington, Gabriel Magee, Latrasa Magee, and Alicia Magee. They are the embodiment of the essence of Nicolah’s strength, love, and hardworking nature. They will be responsible to be sure they show and share those same attributes (in her absence) with the seven precious grandchildren Nicolah has departed from:  Alisiana Sibley, Aaliyah Jones, Divonte Jones Jr., Alayni Morris, Amauri Williams, Dallas Williams, and My’Kel Magee.

Her children will not be alone sharing her Legacy because thanks to two of her best sister/friends, Pastor Annikki Robertson and Albernette Davis, she also has seven godchildren who will answer the charge: Deneka Marcel, Ryneka (Ivan) Moore, Shineka Marcel, Kedrick Patterson, Rayshon Marcel, Jerome (Christina) Davis, and Jer’Nique Davis.

Nicolah’s Living Legacy also includes a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family, way to vast to call by name. She is loved and did love so many, her Legacy will be shared and carried on for generations to come.
