Ola Mae Talley

Ola Mae Talley; a mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, sadly departed this world on January 5, 2022.

Ms. Talley was born on July 13, 1928, in Philadephia, Mississippi. She later moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi, where she raised her younger children, helped raise her grandchildren, and many family members. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to let someone stay, give them a meal, or her last dime. Many called her “MaDear” or “Granny,” and she welcomed each one with open and loving arms. Ms. Talley was a caregiver and a provider, but she was also feisty, which showed her entire 93 years on this Earth. She spent most of her working career as a pipe fitter at Ingalls Shipbuilding. Once she retired, you could find Ms. Talley in the kitchen cooking, baking, or spending time with her great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Cora Daniels; her sons, Willie Donald and Jerome Daniels; her brothers, James Daniels and Roger Daniels; her sister, Minnie Huddleston; and her grandchildren, Latasha Jones and Sean Spurr.

She leaves behind her daughters, Ola B McMillian (Anthony), Sherry Spurr, and Priscilla Kenner; her son, Keiran Spurr (Kristin); her sisters, Magdeline Houston and Pearline Daniels; and her grandchildren, Demetrius, Felisha (William), Juan, Kiela, Antonio, Sytonya, Tonya, Nekita, Mikita, Shaneca, and Aja. Ms. Talley had a special place in her heart for her niece, Sharon, and great-grandchildren, Kiersyn, Jaden, and Jada. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and friends.
