Oscar Smith Jr Obituary

Oscar Richard Smith Jr., a native of Pascagoula and a longtime resident of Moss Point, Mississippi, has passed away. Known for his humble and friendly spirit, Oscar was affectionately known by many as Daygo.  He was a master of his craft, serving the community as a self-employed plumber at Daygo’s Plumbing for over 35 years, and was a dedicated member of the Magnolia Elks Lodge of Moss Point.  Oscar’s memory will be forever cherished by his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Richard Smith Sr., and brother, Andrew James Smith.

Daygo leaves to cherish his loving memory to his wife, Carolyn Faye Smith; son, Richard O. Smith; bonus sons, Bernard S. Kirkland, Marius M. Kirkland, and Ladarius Kirkland; his God sent daughters, Beckey Smith and Annise Jackson Murithi; his mother, Georgia (Curtis) McDonald; his brothers, Billy Pittman, Louis  (Patricia) Smith, and Joseph (Daphne),  Smith; devoted and caring sister, Charlene (Danny) Ratliff. Oscar was also the proud grandfather of Skye Smith and Saint Smith, along with four bonus grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Helen (Issac) Nathan, Violee Hubbard, Jackie Anderson, Bridgett Jackson, Bonnie (Joseph) Otis, and Earlean Burney; and his brother-in-law, Jack E. Anderson Jr.; along with many other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
