Ray Charles Hubbard departed this life for his eternal life on July 15, 2022. He was born to the Late Jesse Hubbard, Sr. and Thelma (Baham) Hubbard, on February 16, 1956, in Jackson, MS. His parents relocated their young family to the Gulf Coast area in 1959. Ray attended school in Pascagoula and Moss Point. He was employed at Gulf Sales & Supply for many years and later with Surface Tech in Pascagoula. Ray was a hard and faithful worker.
On June 24, 1995, Ray was united in holy matrimony to Tonia C. Daniels of Pascagoula, MS. He had a passion for drawing and artwork, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, whom they affectionately called “Granddaddy”. Ray was a praying man who believed in God, and he made peace with God.
He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, brothers, Ruffin Spann, Louis Spann, Jesse Hubbard, Jr., Ruben Hubbard, and sister Thelma Willis.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Tonia Hubbard; bonus children, Keshela Daniels (Rico Mitchell) and Roderick Daniels, Sr; five sisters, Joyce Harris (Leon), Rebecca Johnson (Kenneth), both of Moss Point, MS; Regina Abston of Gautier, MS; Debra Young (Glenn) of Texas, and Eartha Hubbard of Pascagoula, MS; four brothers, William Spann of Jackson, MS, Anthony Hubbard of Grand Bay, AL, Johnny Hubbard (Cheryl) of Moss Point, MS, and Martin Hubbard (Denise) of Pascagoula, MS; two sisters-in-law, Irma Doss of Moss Point, MS and Bonnie Williams of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren, Quentina Daniels, Keith Roberson, Jr., Jordan Turner, Kamiah Turner, Roderick Daniels, Jr., and Heaven Daniels; one great-grandchild, Jy’Kaylia Daniels; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
