Rose "Cokie" Nelson

Mrs. Rose Mae "Cokie" Nelson, 85 years old, of Assumption Parish, LA departed this life on August 24, 2020 at her home.  She was born April 25, 1935 in Labadieville, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Nelson; her parents, Annaise (Alberta) Johnson; three brothers, Louis Johnson, Freeman Johnson, and Gilbert Johnson; her sisters, Hilda Johnson and Annie Mae Johnson; two half-children, Clarence Williams, and Glenda Marie Williams.

Rose leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing, a loving and devoted family.  She is survived by her three children, Calvin (Shirley) Nelson, Sr. of Paincourtville, LA, Joyce (John) Brown of Moss Point, MS, and Eugene (Barbara) Nelson, Sr., of Paincourtville, LA; one sister, Elousie Johnson of Atlanta, GA; one half-daughter, Barbara Jean Williams; one half-son, Jerry Riley; eleven grandchildren, Calvin (Veronica) Bradford, Sabrina Bradford, Kim Fair, John (Tasha) Brown, Jr., Latasha James, Martina (Jonathan) Taite, Sharon James, Calvin Nelson, Jr., Eugene Nelson, Jr., Keion James, Sr., and Rena Nelson; twenty-three greatgrandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren.
