“Buddy” Roy Sharp, resident of Lucedale, MS for the past 7 years, passed away on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, at home. “Buddy” was known for his witty humor. He could light up a room within seconds of entering. His laugh was contagious, and he deeply enjoyed making other people laugh as well with his jokes, comments, and sarcasm. He was a welder by trade and a “legend,” in his own words, by all of those who worked beside him. His favorite thing to do was to fish with his wife, Jennifer, and they would do it all day if the daylight permitted so. He enjoyed grilling and didn’t believe a meal was complete without a steak and potato on his plate. He loved his country and was proud of his southern upbringing. He loved his family with all that he had. “Buddy” will be missed fiercely by all whom loved him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Bessie Sharp and maternal grandfather, Edgar Watkins.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Sharp of 4 years; his daughter, Briana Sharp of Moss Point, MS; his 7 sons, Justice (Gracie) Sharp of Columbus, MS, Hunter Sharp of South Carolina, Griffyn Sharp of Columbus, MS, Pierce Sharp of Moss Point, MS, Emmanual Marshall of Andalusia, AL, Gage Harvard of Lucedale, MS, and Kaiden Railey of Arizona; his brothers, Johnathon Sharp of Ocean Springs, MS and Jason Unger of Biloxi, MS; his sister, Nicole (Bobby) Barksdale of Millport, AL; his grandchild, Millie Jane Sharp of Columbus, MS; his mother, Dorothy Jane Sharp of Philadelphia, MS; his father, Jimmy and Bonnie Sharp of Ocean Springs, MS; his maternal grandmother, Lois Watkins of Philadelphia, MS; along with host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
